What were your responsibilities or duties in this rotation? In this rotation, my responsibility was to observe the RT’s and ask questions over the scans. Occasionally I was able to go into the room and see how everything worked. What new knowledge or skill did you learn in this rotation? I learned how to treat a patient as they came in for a scan. The RT’s (radiologic technologist) also showed me different things and even how to read the basics of some scans. I learned the different reasons for scans and why contrast is used. What was the best thing that happened at this Clinical Rotation site? The best thing that happened on this site was the time i was able to observe a TB (tuberculosis) patient receiving iliac injections. I was able to see many different health care workers taking the necessary precautions to carefully take care of the patient and themselves. What was the worst thing that happened at this Clinical Rotation site? There was a code stroke called and the patient was brought in by one of the technicians. No nurses were present during or after the scan. If the â€Å"worst† was a mistake, how was it corrected? The RT’s had to physically leave the CT room and look for a nurse. After a nurse was brought back to the patient, an RT spoke with a supervisor about the incident. This week was: GOOD BAD DISASTROUS Why?
